A translation but thought provoking

This is an excerpt from a famous Hindi song in the movie
"Mukaddar ka Sikandar". The following four lines relate
very much to my first post in this blog.

"zindagii to bevafaa hai ek din Thukaraaegii
maut mahabuubaa hai apane saath lekar jaaegii
mar ke jiine kii adaa jo duniyaa ko sikhalaaegaa
vo muqaddar kaa sikandar...

rote hue aate hai.n sab, ha.nsataa huaa jo jaaegaa
vo muqaddar kaa sikandar jaaneman kahalaaegaa"

I have taken this lyrics from this site.
This movie was a Bollywood Blockbuster. The cast included
Amitabh Bachchan. The lyrics had been written by Anjaan.

"Life is so unfaithful, she will ditch you some time
Death is your beloved, she will take you with her
The one who teaches the style of living even after death,
will be entitled as the Alexander of kismet (luck).

Everyone comes crying into this world, the one who goes smiling,
will be entitled as the Alexander of kismet (luck)."

Note: Kismet is a valid English word

One of the wierd creations of my mind

I wrote this one in my teenage years :)

TRAP

Bounded, closed, boxed, cuffed, trapped
Nothing but I see, the minds.
Chained and roped around by
the physical and chemical changes though worldly.
Brains governing the attitudes, the character
but seems to be a corrupt government.
That naturally is.....
Hard to find an honest one
This mental tug of war tearing them apart
or so to say everybody
The circumstances, situations and events
Driving the capital government crazy.
Trap of emotions being deviced
The gray matter tries to hold on the convulsions.
But these convulsions very meagre
Compared to the logical ones.
The trap more like a swamp
Keeps on pulling you and me.
You and I still hold on that hanging banyan
In hope to survive
The government continues...
Loaded with nexuses and sectors of traps
Clutches on my mind - Silicon carbide.

Confidence

A thought of a junior in my college..

We are here to make a dent in the universe, otherwise why would we be here?

He clarified that this has been said by STEVE JOBS of APPLE.

The Witch

During the lifetime I have had, I have not seen a successful love life.
I wrote two poems --
"Hand Mirror and the Comb" which praises the female entity.
"The Witch" which shows the negative side.
I won't post the former one.
This poem is dedicated to my dear friend, who
got ditched by his girl friend.

The Witch

Her innocent face resembles a goddess,
Beware!! She is a witch in disguise.
You get swayed in her soothing styles,
Only to land up in dismay.
She feigns to be your partner,
But at heart - you discover, you're forlorn.
Her plastic face hides her 'green' heart,
Which is devoid of warmth and sanguine fervor.
Her sorcery enchants your senses,
And her spells guide your emotions.
She uses you, tempts you, plays with you;
The feminine bait tricks the fatuous male.
By the time - you realize...
You are at the brink of annihilation.

On World Environment Day

I took this photograph in Brindavan Gardens in Mysore. On the occasion of World Environment Day, this tree emphasizes the importance of greenery and clean environment in our life. I am a passionate nature lover. On this day, I would stress that please don't throw any plastics in your surroundings. Also, try to use as minimum plastic as possible.

INSTALLING LOVE

This has been forwarded to me by Jeane Michelle Culp.
I really liked this one.
:)

Customer Service: Can you install Love?

Customer: I can do that. I'm not very technical, but I think I'm ready to install now. What do I do first?

Service: The first step is to open your Heart. Have you located your Heart?

Customer: Yes, I have, but there are several programs running right now. Is it okay to install while they are running?

Service: What programs are running?

Customer: Let me see!! I have Pasthurt.exe, Lowesteem.exe, Grudge.exe and Resentment.com running right now.

Service: No problem. Love will automatically erase Pasthurt.exe from your current operating system. It may remain in your permanent memory, but it will no longer disrupt other programs. Love will eventually overwrite Lowesteem.exe with a module of its own, called Highesteem.exe. However, you have to completely turn off Grudge.exe and Resentment.com. Those programs prevent Love from being properly installed. Can you turn those off?

Customer: I don't know how to turn them off. Can you tell me how?

Service: My pleasure. Go to your Start menu and invoke Forgiveness.exe. Do this as many times as necessary until Grudge.exe and Resentment.com have been completely erased.

Customer: Okay, I'm done. Love has started installing itself automatically. Is that normal?

Service: Yes it is. You should receive a message that says it will reinstall for the life of your Heart. Do you see that message?

Customer: Yes I do. Is it completely installed? Service: Yes, but remember that you have only the base program. You need to begin connecting to other Hearts to get the upgrades. Customer: Oops!! I have an error message already. What should I do?

Service: What does the message say? Customer: It says "Error 412. Program not run on internal components." What does that mean?

Service: Don't worry, that's a common problem. It means that the Love program is set up to run on external Hearts but has not yet been running on your Heart. It is one of those complicated programming things, but in non-technical terms it means that you have to 'love' your own machine before it can 'love' others.

Customer: So what should I do?

Service: Can you find the directory called 'Self-acceptance'?

Customer: Yes, I have it. Service: Excellent, you are getting good at this.

Customer: Thank you.

Service: You're welcome. Click on the following files and then copy them to the 'Myheart' directory: Forgiveself.doc, Selfesteem.txt, Realizeworth.txt and Goodness.doc. The system will overwrite conflicting files and begin patching any faulty programming. Also, you need to delete Selfcriticize.exe from all directories, and then empty your recycle bin afterwards to make sure it is completely gone and never comes back.

Customer: Got it! Wow! My Heart is filling up with really neat files. Smile.mpg is playing on my monitor right now, and it shows that Warmth.com, Peace.exe and Contentment.com are copying themselves all over my Heart! Service: Then Love is installed and running. You should be able to handle it from here. One more thing before I go.

Customer: Yes?

Service: Love is freeware. Be sure to give it and its various modules to everybody you are meeting. They will in turn share it with other people, and they will return some really neat modules back to you.

Customer: I will. Thank you for your help.

Service: You're very welcome.

Words from the heart of a Software Engineer

We, software engineers, were engaged in a talk about girls.
One of the software engineer friend uttered,
"If some girl asks me about heart, I would say -
HEART!! What is heart? I've never written a programming code
for that thing.

Something by Shakespeare

I couldn't resist writing after reading these two lines in a sonnet by SHAKESPEARE.

But if the while I think of thee, dear friend,
All losses are restored, and sorrows end.

The corrected form--

But if the while I think on thee, dear friend,
All losses are restored, and sorrows end.

I thank Chai Mimi for correcting me.
After all, it is the work of Shakespeare

Bubbly Isha

I wrote this one for one of my sisters.
She has her B'day today.

Bubbly ISHA

Cute, sober, simple and droll;
So innocent is this roly-poly doll.
Cherubic she is, has amazing traits;
Her intelligent mind has open gates.
An owner of a sharp mind,
She is a 'Jenny' of unique kind.
Her motley talks are so funny,
Sweetness exudes much like honey.
Ambitions and dreams - both are grand,
Efforts will ensure, she becomes a brand.
A life lover by instinct;
Optimism and hope is her cerebral tinct.
Her broad smile refreshes the ambience;
Lovely Isha has whimsical sense.

I'm on the banks

The transparent water;
Flowing slow and steady,
Dancing on the rocks,
Making its way through my hands.

The music of flow is pleasing,
It seems musicians from heavens are performing.
The jitters and movements of the trees resemble unique dance,
Dancers from the paradise have landed on this mortal ground.

The fluffy and frail clouds belittling stupendous mountains,
The 'coo' of the cuckoo echoing in the ambience.
Nature enticing my mind with her sorcery,
Bewitched!! I'm on the banks.

I was hearing the instrumental music named Delusion
by Rahul Sharma. That made me write this piece of
poetry.
Do listen to his music if you get a chance.

Eyes will cheat you - A song of Hindi movie OMKARA translated to English

Eyes will cheat you

Don't trust the eyes
Don't hear to what the eyes say
Eyes will cheat you.

They will blow magic on this world;
Sound sleeps would turn into barren nights,
Eyes will cheat you.

They don't care about innocence; neither kins nor strangers,
Eyes have passion for biting and smiting,
The venom of eyes is intoxicating;
They seed the rainbow in the clouds,
& it rains till dawn.
Eyes will turn you crazy,
Eyes will cheat you.

Eyes will take you to heavens at night,
They give dreams of clouds and rains; show greenery,
I cannot trust the speech of the eyes.
They read and write without receipt or book,
All the talks have gone over my mind.

It rains without clouds
& there are clouds without rains.
Eyes will cheat you.

They will blow magic on this world;
Sound sleeps would turn into barren nights,
Eyes will cheat you.

Don't trust the eyes
Don't hear to what the eyes say
Eyes will cheat you.

This is the English translation of a Hindi song
sung in the movie Omkara, directed by Vishal Bharadwaj.
This song has been sung by Vishal Bharadwaj himself
and it is sung in Indian classical genre.
The song has been written by a phenomenal lyricist GULZAR.
The movie is based on William Shakespeare's OTHELLO.
I love the meaning of the song and wrote the English
version so that more and more people can enjoy it.
If you get a chance to hear it, do it. It's awesome.

Check out the Omkara site for more.

The First Kiss

The unison of our lips;
Leading to the unison of our senses.

A gush of feelings,
Running like electricity in my neurons.

It seems we are at the margin of the horizons,
And our souls at the intersection of the worlds.

Our breath as pure as the first breath of a new born,
And the taste as sweet as honey.

She starts flowing into my body;
And my emotions start dancing in rhapsody.

The touch graduating to a lasting kiss;
Start of true love is never amiss.

This is an imaginary creation and has lots of scope for
improvement. May be someday, I will improve it.

Gist of "OLD LOVE"

Old Love is a story of two Doctorate students William and Phillipa written by Jeffrey Archer. I was very fascinated and couldn't resisting writing a small gist of what it contains.

Both are extremely intelligent and intellectual. They both study in Oxford and they are staunch competitors. Still they used to teach each other sometimes. This continued for three years and they both kept equivocating each other in all aspects.

Then came a time of the award of Old Durham Charles Oldham (corrected based on comments and review). This award was given for the best essay by a student. They both do their bit to achieve the award. It so happened that Phillipa's dad died of cancer and she was very depressed. Then William supported her and took her to her home. At some instant he realized that he was in love with Phillipa and so he proposed her on the condition that he won the prize.

The result was out. For the first time, two winners were declared and both of them won the Old Durham Prize. William and Phillipa married after winning the Prize. They kept competing with each other even after the marriage. They were both efficient in their fields of interests. Both of them got offers from different people for work with equal importance. When William was given Knighthood, Phillipa was also given the opportunity to sit beside the Queen.

The only edge Phillipa had over William was that she used to solve The Times Crossword in half the time what William used to do. Phillipa couldn't bear a child to William. They were now old enough but had enough reputation by now. Once Phillipa was not getting a word in the Crossword. William instantaneously filled that word "WHYM WHAM" which Phillipa argued that the word does not exist in the Oxford Dictionary and it is no word in dictionary. William took a bet with Phillipa that if the word existed then Phillipa would read some book(I dont remember the name) which Phillipa hated.

After that William went to his college library. At that moment, Phillipa got a heart attack and she died. Nobody dare give this news to William but somehow he was informed. Then he was found dead in his cabin with a pistol in one hand and a book in other hand.
In that book, the word "WHYM WHAM" was underlined.

That book was never separated from his hand.

Do read this story in A Quiver Full of Arrows by Jeffrey Archer.

THE EYES SAY EVERYTHING

So beautiful and so sublime;
Deep as the ocean and abyssmal as time.
The greatest gift to mankind,
The source through which feeling unwind.
It's true, The eyes say everything.

The 'feel' universe exists in the dot;
A blink is enough to tie an emotional knot.
Signs of love cannot be hidden,
They are the enchanting jewels of a maiden.
It's true, The eyes say everything.

Language of the eyes is unique;
Moods are visible, be it joy or fatigue.
Passion, obsession and anger,
They turn RED - a sign of danger
It's true, The eyes say everything.

Their shrinking evokes curiousity;
Probably insinuating jealousy.
Partially showing the state of mind,
Exception is the case of the blind.
It's true, The eyes say everything.

Saline droplets residing at the periphery;
Times of sorrow - they flow continuously.
Deep grief can never be healed,
Still life goes on, as the sight of hope is revealed.
It's true, The eyes say everything.

This poem still seems incomplete. In the edited version which I am not going to publish, I will complete it.
