The Master does it again

The Master batsman, Sachin Tendulkar, in the game of Cricket has done it again.
He hit his 38th Century in Test Cricket against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
I have been a fan of this legend since long time.
LONG LIVE SACHIN!

The child in us

Pic Source : http://www.flickr.com/photos/hindugods/508166226/in/set-72157600005397920/

Yesterday I saw two boys engaged in a quarrel, the
reason being an inevitable cycle tussle they had.

Instantaneously I was taken back in time and indelible
memories flashed infront of my mind.

Oh!! What days I had in my innocent childhood.

So many friends and so many cousins at home(I belong
to a joint family).

I still remember those days of childish cricket in
courtyards of my home. Those childhood games.

Ah!! How I wish I could go back in time.

The best song which I think makes me remember my childhood
is the song sung by phenomenal Ghazal singer, Jagjit Singh.
The song goes like this,

"Woh Kagaz ki kashti, woh baarish ka paani...."
(That dinghy of paper, those waters of rain...)

The Game and We

Standing tall in the midst of the stadium
We define the battle part
Our body, heart and mind is willow
Our existence keeps the game apart.

Twins we are... have three dimensions
Off, mid and leg are they
Bells standing on the temple
Ringing when the cherry slay.

Legion of legends have been protecting us
Might and skill - their splendid show
Our security is the prime concern
"The master out her" - all should know.

Alas! We have numerous falls
My greatest enemy - the ball and the bowler
"Oh please stop him"
The next moment - "The sky comes closer".

Anand Bora

The poem is being narrated by the wickets used in the game of cricket.
